What’s e-learning?

Quite simply it is the use of electronic media and ITC in education.

The extent to which e-learning assists or replaces other learning and teaching approaches is variable, ranging from a continuum (fully online) to partial (blended) distance learning.

Learning activities may be: chat rooms, wiki, web-forum, webinars, e-books, e-presentation, FAQs, mailing list, on-line exercises and quiz, assignments, case study, report, social networking.

According to the general guidelines, we need to distinguish between:

  • electronic direct training: e-presentations, web-conference, webinars, file download, video recording, courseware, e-books
  • interactive training: FAQs, mailing list, web forum, on-line quiz, wiki, assignments, case study, report, exercise, social networking.
